Our gites and holiday
cottages are situated on the edge of villages in the South Vendée, near the attractive
market towns of Fontenay-le-Comte
and Luçon. All
the gîtes are ideal for large family groups or for two or more families holidaying together.

Vendée Vacances is a family business owned
by Jon and Julia Doust. All of the properties advertised here are owned by Vendée Vacances and we are
personally concerned with their day-to-day management. We live locally and
are available to answer questions or to provide any assistance you might
require during the course of your stay. We are also the chefs for
the evening meals and cakes provided on request.

La Maison du Blé
is a traditional former farmhouse located in the village
of Mouzeuil St Martin. La Maison sleeps
eleven plus three babies and is available year round. The
very large, heated, pool is shared with guests at Les Chardonnerets
(below). Discounts are available for smaller parties (up to six)
in low and mid season.
Taken together
with Les Chardonnerets the property sleeps twenty with a private
pool.
Les Chardonnerets
is a gite converted from a
barn adjacent to La Maison du Blé
and sharing the swimming pool and play area. Sleeping nine plus
two babies, Les Chardonnerets is available for lets year round,
and can be taken together with La Maison for parties of up to 20,
the huge kitchen diner and covered terrace being large enough to
allow everyone in the two properties to dine together.
During the months of July / August
and at Christmas / New Year, La Maison & Les Chardonnerets are
offered as a single unit for 20 people (plus babies) only with
private pool and grounds. At other times the
properties may be taken singularly or together.
Les Alouettes
is a gite immediately adjacent to our own home
in the ancient village of Le Langon. A
carefully converted barn, the
gite is finished to a high standard of
comfort, sleeping eight adults and children plus two babies
in four bedrooms. It is available for lets from late April to early
October. The garden and the large heated pool is shared with us.
Les Roches
sleeps 12 in five bedrooms (plus 2 infants) with 4 bathrooms / shower
rooms.
The property is
located on a quite lane in the village of Le Langon and backs onto farmland.
Les Roches enjoys an enviable
combination of an excellent location near to both open country and all the
village services.
Les Roches has
exclusive use of a heated 9 by 4.5m swimming pool (fenced), set in a
substantial, enclosed, south facing garden.
Why a Gite?
A self catering holiday is an ideal choice for a family holiday in
France. Babies and toddlers are often creatures of habit, happiest when
able to eat and sleep to their own timetable and a gite offers that
flexibility. A gite offers more private space inside and out than
other holiday rentals might – more than a hotel, an apartment or
a mobile home – and
provides a more controlled environment than a camp site.
Why a Gite in the Vendée?
Simply, the Vendée is an ideal family holiday destination. Easily
reached from the UK by sea, air and rail, the region offers plenty to see
and do. The countryside is peaceful and uncrowded; there are adventure
parks, fun fairs and zoos for all ages, and the beaches of the Vendée
are amongst the best in Europe. The south of the Vendée enjoys the
second highest number of sunshine hours in France, after the Côte
d’Azur, yet rarely achieves the same searing temperatures.

Our holiday rentals are designed to be particularly suitable for families taking
holidays with children, toddlers and babies and are notable for their large living
spaces, a simple luxury much appreciated by our guests. All our properties are fully equipped with everything that
younger children and babies could need: cots, highchairs, bottle sterilisers
are provided, as are bed linen and towels, minimising your luggage
requirements.
"Vendée Vacances" has been in business
for nine summers now, having first opened in 2003. We are committed
to making sure that our guests have the best, most relaxing, holiday
that they possibly can. We are a family run company; all four of the
properties shown on this site are owned and personally managed by us.
We invest continually to improve our properties and services.
Even in the height of summer, the price
of our gîtes compares very favourably indeed with coastal campsite
mobile home alternatives such as Eurocamp or Keycamp** while providing
considerably more in the way of privacy and space.
Bordering the Atlantic Coast of France, the Vendée is easily and rapidly accessible from the
Western Channel ports (St Malo - 3 hours) and from the short sea
crossings to Calais (6 and a half hours). The services of budget carriers
Ryanair, Easyjet and
Flybe have transformed access by air via the nearby airports at Nantes

Although our properties are fully equipped for self catering, we also
offer meals services that allow you to make the most of your
precious holiday time. Our pre-prepared meals that are delivered
to your kitchen ready for your return from a day out and require only
reheating. All our meals are made to order, using fresh, local produce.
