Accommodation

Front of Les Alouettes

“Our objective is to provide our guests with the highest levels of comfort and convenience while maintaining the rural aspects of the accommodation we offer.  We offer a service that seeks to ensure you and your family have a relaxing and enjoyable break.”

The two properties we offer have quite different characters but share the same attention to detail and quality. We are permanently resident in France, and are generally on hand to ensure that your needs are catered for. The service we provide includes:

  • A welcome pack of provisions to help you settle in upon arrival
  • The supply of bed linen and towels (including beach / pool towels)
  • Cleaning of the property (including a mid-stay clean for those staying more than one week)
  • All utilities, including pool heating

Les Alouettes
La Maison

Our design, furnishing and the facilities available have been developed with the needs of those holidaying with younger children firmly in mind. We have a young family ourselves and have taken a number of holidays in gites and villas. We have drawn on our experiences of these to build an ideal environment for both child and adult to enjoy.

For Children describes the attributes that make this property particularly suitable for babies, toddlers and children.

What Else Can We Do For You…..

We are able to offer some additional services to make your holiday more relaxing. These are charged locally as and when you require them.

Meals

At Les Alouettes, we can provide evening meals of three courses (and / or children’s meals as required) with 24 hours notice. These will be based on the produce available at the time. As we are working in a domestic kitchen, we can only offer this service on a plat de jour basis (everyone has the same – though obviously we will discuss the dishes with you at the time of your ordering), and have limited ability to deliver special dietary requirements. Typical menus could involve salade de chevre chaud, followed fillets of sea bass served on a bed of sautéed potatoes and wild mushrooms with vegetables from our own garden, finishing with raspberry pavlova served with home made vanilla ice-cream.

At both properties, we can offer pre-prepared evening meals, ready for you to heat up upon your return from a day out. And for the day out, we can provide you with a gourmet picnic, packed and ready and ready to go first thing in the morning.

We can also provide a breakfast service to save you the hassle of early morning trips to the bakery. This would typically consist of croissants or brioche plus a loaf and homemade preserve, with some fresh eggs.

Babysitting

With 24 hours notice we can provide babysitting cover should you wish to go out for an evening.

First Shop Service

It has been our experience that arriving at a holiday rental in France on a Saturday can be made less than relaxing by the need to then dash to a supermarket (French supermarkets do not open on Sunday and rarely open later than 7pm on Saturdays). If you submit a list of your requirements for a first shop no later than five days prior to your arrival then we buy it and put it away for your arrival. Naturally, we provide a welcome pack which as a minimum includes:

  • Bread
  • Butter
  • Jam
  • Cheeses
  • Coffee
  • Milk
  • Water
  • Beer
  • A bottle of wine

There is a local shop in the village open on Sunday mornings that sells a limited range of goods (though a surprisingly large selection of butchery).
